Cancer the Crab! (21 June - 22 July)
 
Cancer is the Cardinal water sign and is ruled by the Moon.  Because of this, Cancerians tend to be highly emotional. On the one hand, this can mean that they are intensely loyal, intuitive and caring as well a fiercely protective of their loved ones. But please don’t hurt them! Because folks born in Cancer dwell a lot in their feelings, they can get hurt deeply and cling to past events (comforting or distressing) and can certainly hold a grudge for much longer than folks from other signs would deem necessary. Their emotional reactions can appear to be quite a striking dichotomy, with no middle ground at all.  They can be moody and, well, “snappy” too, and therefore come across as defensive, erratic and illogical in the extreme.  But all these are part and parcel of their kind-hearted nature that always wants to bring a smile or a laugh to their friends’ faces and into their lives.  Deep down, they are hugely loving and empathetic personalities who will try harder than anyone to make the most difficult situations “work”, even to the detriment of their own personal health and wellbeing.  They excel at caring and nurturing jobs, so long as they remember that they must also look after themselves sometimes, too, and STOP WORRYING SO MUCH! They tend to be lively, with a wicked sense of humour, and can smell deception from 10 miles away.  With the right emotional support, they can be the absolute best social worker, teacher, nurse, marine biologist (!) or comedian you’ve ever encountered.  They tend to favour jobs and relationships that give them a strong sense of security, and they can be a little tight with money because of this, but they always follow through on their commitments and give their all (and more!) to anything close to their hearts.
